Nike Dunk High

The second Dunk of the month and fellow “Rock Pack” member is the Mötley Crüe “Dr. Feelgood” Dunk High. Like the G N’ R Dunk Lows, these are inspired by the album art of a late 80’s hit rock album.

Ask any Mötley Crüe head and I am sure they will tell you that “Dr. Feelgood” was the band’s greatest. Released in 1989, this dropped before Pammie Andersen was imported to the US from British Columbia. Ironically the band recorded this album in Vancouver which was where she was living at the time.Color: forest / varsity red

Nike SB Dunk is specifically designed for skateboard ( SB ) customers. It has a zoom air insole unlike the regular dunks. Nike SB Dunks are extremely rare, only available in selected skateboard shops and each authorized store gets only 1 set of each style!! The Nike Dunk has a lower profile outer sole than its parent shoes. The intent was a lighter weight and staying closer to the ground. In addition, the paneling was revised to improve basketball game performance during pivoting and blocking. The Dunk was used to spearhead what Nike called the ’College Colors’ program. They signed some average college basketball teams (and their coaches) to an exclusive Dunk sponsorship deal; in simple terms, the deal meant that each colored pair of Dunks matched their uniforms.
