Superstar is a basketball shoe manufactured by athletic goods company Adidas since 1969.When the shoe was introduced, it was the first low-top basketball shoe to feature an all-leather upper and the now famous rubber shell toe. Adidas is borrowing the idea of regional releases and will be dropping NBA Superstars in the home cities of each NBA team. These are supposedly going to be ultra-limited and will be gone the day they release.
One thing that Adidas got other than a great sneaker company when they bought Reebok in 2005 is they got the exclusive contract for the NBA and the NFL. Since Reebok is owned by Adidas now, they get the same rights and can therefore produce NBA and NFL licensed apparel (and sneakers) without a hitch.
